NFL Recipes

Warning: This recipe is dangerously delicious with obscene amounts of bacon. Not recommended for those with heart conditions or having vegetarians friends over. Eat Responsibly!

Bacon Explosion

Ingredients:
1 lb ground sausage
8 slices of bacon
1 carrot (chopped)
½ white onion (chopped)
½ c broccoli (chopped)
4 mushrooms (chopped)
2 T garlic powder
salt and pepper
1 c BBQ sauce

Directions:

Heat the oven to 375 degrees.

Place the ground sausage in a bowl and add the garlic, carrots, onion, broccoli, and mushrooms. Blend the mixture well. Shape the sausage mixture into a log shape. On a pan, place the bacon, slightly overlapping. Place the sausage mixture on the base of bacon and roll, so that the bacon covers the sausage roll. (You can place vegetables on the pan as well if you would like to serve with your explosion).

Place the bacon-covered explosion into the oven, and allow to bake twenty minutes. When bacon is crispy on top, flip the sausage roll, after the bottom side is crispy, cover with barbecue sauce. Flip the roll, and place more sauce on the top, and allow the sauce to glaze. Serve and Enjoy! Go Chiefs.

Cranberry Maple Bread

Ingredients:

1 c dried cranberries
1 c hot water
½ c maple syrup
1 c whole-wheat flour
1 c flour
1 t baking powder
¾ t baking soda
1 t salt
1 egg
1 T butter

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

In a large bowl, place the cranberries, butter and hot water. Allow the butter to melt. Add the maple syrup and egg, mix well.

In a separate bowl, mix the flours, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the egg mixture into the flour mixture and blend well. Place into a greased loaf pan, and put into oven. Allow to bake twenty-five to thirty minutes. Enjoy! Go Patriots.
